The town map in Yandere Simulator Academy High is the same Buraza Town layout veterans already know, only now it stands in for Manhattan, and that recycled ground hides one of the most complete fan projects built on the base game: two full campaigns, ten rivals in each, and six endings that judge exactly how you dealt with every one of them.

Naomi in 2024, Eddie in 1988

The 2024 mode follows Naomi Wright, whose friendships collapsed after an incident about a year earlier, including her bond with Sean Heistburg, the boy she cared about. When she asks her father Edward how he met her mother Destiny, his answer is chilling: in his youth he removed everyone who stood between him and her, and he suggests Naomi go after the people who betrayed her.

The 1988 mode rewinds to that story. You play Edward as a young man known as Eddie, who meets Destiny Folger at the bakery where she works. When the college year starts and other students show interest in her, Eddie decides he will be the last one standing.

That father-and-daughter link is the mod’s smartest piece of structure. Playing 1988 after 2024 turns Eddie’s advice into lived backstory, and both modes are complete from start to finish, so nobody waits on an unfinished route.

What Academy High Changes From the Base Game

The biggest change is the setting. Akademi High School in a fictional Japanese town becomes a college in New York, and returning players will recognize the old map under new labels within the first minute. The core loop stays familiar: study rival routines, gather info, keep sanity in check and track people with Yandere Vision.

The tone is noticeably gentler. One shop now sells sodas and water that act as bonuses, and photographing certain subjects no longer earns info points; the info broker answers with a disapproving line instead. Players who love the stealth planning but skip the edgier shop content find the mod easier to recommend.

Lore fans get continuity nods too. Chigusa, a 1989 rival in the base game, married Etsuji Odaka, and the couple appear in 2024 watching over their daughter Sasha Nyuki, who happens to be the first rival of the run.

Six Endings in Yandere Simulator Academy High

Each mode has six endings, five of them shared. Which one you land on depends on how you handle all ten rivals, so the ending is decided long before the final week arrives.

  • Pacifist: every rival survives.
  • Cupid: every rival is matchmade.
  • True: every rival is defeated in her canon way.
  • Bad: the first nine are eliminated but the tenth survives.
  • Normal: none of the other conditions are met.
  • Vengeful in 2024 and Heartbroken in 1988 as each mode’s unique ending.

The True ending rewards attention over force. A monologue at the start of each week explains the canon way to deal with that week’s rival, so reading it carefully is part of the puzzle rather than flavor text.

Completionists face twelve endings across both modes. The Bad ending is the cruelest trap: one surviving rival at the very end undoes nine careful weeks.

Friendship Tasks and the Gift Schedule

A classic beginner mistake is treating the mod as a pure elimination sandbox. Pacifist and Cupid runs depend on friendship tasks and matchmaking, and every rival has her own unique friendship task in both modes, starting with Sasha Nyuki in 2024.

The 1988 mode adds an extra chore. Eddie must leave a gift on Destiny’s desk every two weeks, and forgetting it locks you into the Heartbroken ending while closing off others. Treat the gift like another rival routine and put it on your own schedule.

Learning routines early in each week, before committing to a plan, is what separates clean runs from messy ones. By the tenth rival, choices made in week one are already deciding where the story ends.

Gender Flip and the Story-Versus-Debug Choice

At the start of a mode you choose story or debug. Debug unlocks cheats, which is handy for testing, but only a story clear unlocks Gender Flip for later playthroughs of that mode.

Gender Flip lets any rival, the protagonist and the love interest swap genders in any combination, with presets to show off the possibilities. Roleplay-minded players get the most replay value from it, since the same endings play out with different relationships.

One honest caveat: further updates were dropped, so the mod will not receive new routes or patches. Any rough edges inherited from the base game are staying, and it is best enjoyed as a finished project with its quirks.

Yandere Simulator Academy High Questions

  1. How many rivals and endings are there? Each mode, 2024 and 1988, has ten rivals and six endings. Pacifist, Cupid, True, Bad and Normal are shared, while 2024 adds Vengeful and 1988 adds Heartbroken.
  2. How do you unlock Gender Flip? Clear a mode on story rather than debug. After that clear, later playthroughs of the same mode let you swap genders for rivals, Naomi or Eddie, and the love interest.
  3. What happens if Eddie forgets the gifts? Missing the gift on Destiny’s desk every two weeks sends the run toward the Heartbroken ending and blocks some others. Keeping the schedule is essential for the Pacifist, Cupid and True routes in 1988.

Academy High works best when you treat Naomi’s revenge and Eddie’s bakery romance as two puzzles with one rulebook: learn each rival’s routine, listen to the weekly monologue, and decide early whether you want the Pacifist, Cupid or True result. Sasha Nyuki is only the first of ten rivals, and every choice after her shapes the ending of Yandere Simulator Academy High.
