You finish modeling a slightly crooked chair, drop it among the real furniture, and freeze while a Seeker walks past close enough to bump into you. That held breath is the heart of FAKE ME, a multiplayer hide-and-seek game where the disguise is not picked from a menu but built by your own hands a minute earlier.

Fakers, Seekers and the Ticking Clock

Every match splits the lobby in two. Fakers blend into the map and try to stay uncaught until time runs out, while Seekers hunt for the objects that other players created and try to find every Faker before the clock ends the round.

Time quietly shapes both roles. A Faker wins simply by not being found, so patience beats flashiness, while a Seeker who spends a full minute poking one suspicious box gives every other Faker that much longer to sit still. As the timer drains, pressure shifts from the hiders to the hunters.

Both sides get character skills, and a well-timed one can rescue a Faker who is about to be spotted or help a Seeker reveal someone who was nearly invisible.

Modeling a Disguise From Scratch

The modeling tools are intentionally simple. You can shape a single object or combine several pieces into anything from a small ornament to a large structure, and nothing forces you to copy a prop already on the map.

Building is only half the work. Size, colors and position decide whether the model reads as part of the room, and a beautifully made object in the wrong place is still an extra chair that a trained Seeker will notice immediately.

Two schools of thought compete in every lobby. One builds convincing props that belong; the other builds something so strange that Seekers assume it must be scenery. Both work, and that mind game is where most of the laughs come from.

Prop Paint Mode as the Quick Option

Prop Paint Mode skips construction entirely. You transform into an object that already exists on the map and repaint it however you like, either to blend in perfectly or to stand out deliberately.

Newcomers who do not want to spend the warm-up building find this the gentler way in, because it keeps the fun part, choosing where to stand and how to look, without the modeling learning curve.

Experienced players treat it as a tactic rather than a beginner crutch. Repainting a real prop to match its neighbors is often faster than building, which leaves more attention for positioning.

Seeking in FAKE ME Without Wasting the Round

A Seeker’s real job is noticing what does not belong. The strongest hunters learn each map’s real props before chasing anyone, because once you remember the room, anything new stands out by comparison.

  • An extra chair that was never part of the room.
  • A box sitting slightly too neatly in a corner.
  • A structure you are sure was not there a moment ago.

Sound helps as much as sight. Fakers who panic tend to fire off the sound wheel or move at the worst moment, so a patient Seeker who simply stands still and listens often catches more players than one who sprints from room to room.

Observation fans enjoy this side the most. Pairing a careful sweep with the right skill at the right moment is what turns a lucky find into a reliable one.

Sound Wheel, Costumes and the Model Library

Seekers can also use the modeling tools on themselves, painting their character and building costumes from shapes, so a hunter might show up as a knight or as something completely ridiculous.

The sound wheel adds chaos: pick a silly sound or record your own voice for lines and impressions. Playing a sound at the wrong moment is a classic way to reveal yourself, and it is also exactly what makes a round worth retelling.

Saved models go into a personal library for later, can be exported for use in other programs, and can be shared as screenshots. That gives builders a reason to keep refining their creations between matches.

FAKE ME Questions From the Lobby

  1. How does a Faker win? By staying uncaught until the timer runs out. Choose a size, color and position that fit the map, and save your character skill for the moment a Seeker gets too close.
  2. Do you need modeling experience? No. The tools are simple, and Prop Paint Mode lets you skip modeling by repainting an existing object. Starting with basic shapes and improving round by round is enough to compete.
  3. Can you keep your creations? Yes. Models are saved to your library, can be exported to other programs and shared as screenshots, so a favorite disguise does not disappear when the match ends.

FAKE ME works because the best disguise is the one you made yourself: model a chair, repaint a lamp in Prop Paint Mode, or hunt as a Seeker for the box that was not there a moment ago. Every round turns the map into a small puzzle written by the players hiding inside it.
